The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork. –Psalm 19:1
All of creation is God's artwork and He created man with the ability to produce and appreciate beauty. Students learn to worship the Lord through the arts as they expand their creative abilities through drawing, painting, and sculpture.
Art exploration begins in the very earliest years at ACCA, as all elementary students receive art instruction as part of their curriculum. We work to establish a love of art through exploration while teaching the student fundamental principles. As students progress they are given specific tasks and goals that increase their awareness conceptually and help them take ownership for more complex pieces. Students begin to learn techniques that strengthen drawing skills and elements within their final pieces. In high school students have the option to take art as an elective. High schoolers enjoy the privilege of specialized projects based on specific interests. Students receive guided lessons but primarily work within their individualized plans for their independent study that incorporates their media of choice. This includes activities such as wood-burning, leather working, sculpture and more advanced techniques for all mediums.
